Adam took his time returning, and Christian was all for allowing him his space. After all, their first impressions hadn't gone to well... He was determined to make things better. Perhaps he could bake something to eat tomorrow, offer to help Adam with his homework. Something. He felt the needed to break the ice that formed around them, gently, for he didn't imagine himself getting another room mate now. No, the thought made him nervous. He swallowed down his sickly stomach, and shifted to lay down on the bed, facing the wall.
It was a few more minutes of staring at the pale paint, that he heard the squeak of the door, and the shuffling of the carpet. Then the taking down of paper. Well, at least Adam was willing to compromise with Christian... There appeared to be some light at the end of the tunnel, a little. It was a small gesture, and possibly motivated from the boy's own embarrassment, but Christian saw it as a peace offering. A sort of acceptance, and therefore an entrance to run his gab.
He turned over on his side to look at the boy, offering him a soft smile. Nervous about what tomorrow might bring, he took comfort in possibly having a companion. "Hey, should we stick together tomorrow, you know... just for the first day, I mean we don't have to all the time... just, it's cool to have somebody you know, you know?"
The offer was in the air now, and there was no time to retract it, nor the nervous edge in Chris's voice which suspected he may of gone to far this time.

Adam had almost thought and hoped that the boy had fallen asleep while waiting up for him, but he was proven wrong. He wasn't really all that surprised by the boy's offer, however. It sounded like him to want someone to cling to; it was something human and basic that even Adam wanted. And he supposed it couldn't get much worse than today had already gone... they were going to be in public, so Chris couldn't be inappropriate if he was gay...
"Yeah, that sounds alright," the boy murmured with a faint smile. "I don't know anyone else around here either."

With Adam's reluctant reply, Chris found himself ease into a light sleep. Satisfied, that he had found an ally, well, at least for tomorrow.
Everything was going to be alright. At least that is what Chris had convinced himself, before he fallen asleep. That phrase was easily broken though, and given his history to have the worst-luck-the-world-has-ever-known, it was not going to go well. And as if by God, that was what happened. About midnight, the young boy was awoken by the sound of lightning striking just outside the window.
For anybody that knew Chris, in his previous town, knew that he was easily frightened, a timid creature. And that lightning was one of the things that scared him most. In the whole wide world. So, as the room light up, with a flash of light, and the ground shook with the strike, he was startled upright in his bed. Thunder crashed in response, and sweaty palms gripped the edge of his comforter. Though, it was not enough to protect him from the wrath of the storm. In terror, despite the obvious, sensible thing to do - sit it out...
Chris crawled from his mattress, from his side of the room. Almost mindlessly, he lifted the comforter to the bed across from his. He slide right into his room mate's bed. Not caring that the boy's back was to him, and that earlier they were almost in a bad situation, and that Adam was going out on a limb remain his room mate. That this would probably ruin things. None of that had occurred to Chris... Perhaps, maybe, it would have, if another strike didn't light up the room, making the frightened boy scoot closer.

Adam was nearly relieved to sleep for the night. He could finally be left to himself, and his thoughts, which at first intimidated him... but, well, having such a clingy roommate as he did, it was kind of a treat. He easily fell asleep at that, to the soft pitter patter of rain on the window.
He slept all through the storm, the room filling with light, the rattles and shakes, unlike his roommate. He wouldn't have even noticed that Chris was there in the same bed as him, if the boy wouldn't have scooted closer with the second crack, the boy's knee pushing against his ass. The boy stirred at that much, not really having any idea what was going on until he felt the boy move again. Adam's eyes grew wide, and he shot up in bed.
"WHAT THE FUCK MAN?" He said, obviously startled, but resorting to anger before that. "GET OUT OF MY BED!"

Chris was startled by Adam's sudden outburst. But more-so the lightning that struck at the exact same moment. He cowered, pressing his face into pillow that Adam had now abandoned. As the thunder crackled, he peeped up at the back of the boy that was now sitting up, scowling down at him. Obviously angry. Perhaps he had gone too far this time. Chris should have took some medicine and knocked himself out.. Yet, he was too on edge for that. His body was rigid form beneath the sheets.
"A-Adam.. m'sorry, m'sorry..." he couldn't held the stutter of his lips, nor the tears that threatened to fall. It was dark, at the very least, his room mate would be spared the sight of him. But not that quiet, hushed sob. He wanted his mother. He wanted his house, his bedroom. His inhaler. Where was it? Still in his bag? In all too much, he his hands twisted into the sheets, as he tried to level with his breath. It was bad enough he had screwed everything up.
"M'sorry... j-just... letteme s-stay, please.. scared."
And that was all he could get out. He squeezed his eyes shut. Hoping that his room mate's anger would be slightly suspended by his apparent terror.

Adam had been pretty much terrified to be wakened up like this. The storm outside certainly didn't help, but he didn't have as faint a heart as Chrissy. At first he had honestly thought it was some sort of covert homosexual advance by the other. From how the boy cowered from the thunderslap, however, proved otherwise.
He was still sitting stick straight before the boy, still obviously not pleased. But then at the same time, he felt bad, hearing the quiet sob that Chrissy probably hoped went undetected. He sighed a little as he softened. His older brother, Trenton, wouldn't leave him to cower in the dark. Or, at least, he never would have before.
"Fine," he mumbled. "Do you need anything? Medicine?"
